Cheers to our rowers at the "Charles"!

The SRC Rowers had a great showing at this year's "Head of the Charles"!

We had great racing performed by our Master’s Women fours. In the over 40 years and older event, they won silver medals with Renne Bowie, Susan Schmidt, Sue Padilla, Pam Raila and coxswain Mike O'Leary. In the 50 years and older event they earned bronze medals with Valerie Leinfelder, Caryn Purcell, Kate Kislevitz, Liz Turner and coxswain Alison Reilly. These boats had a great row competing against former Olympians and passing many to the finish line!

Eve Green rowed the Charles coming in second and winning a special medal for being the fastest singles sculler in the Grand Masters Veterans Women's race!

For the Juniors congratulations are in order for Alex Zadravec and Lizzy Youngling, Graham Anderson and Max Meyer-Bosse for their 2nd place finishes in the youth doubles. The girls missed 1st place by .035 seconds!

Job well done by all SRC boats!!

A great charity event!

The first annual Paul Green 5k that benefited Nevah Surrender to Parkinson's foundation is now in the books!  The event brought 120 runners and walkers and we raised over $2400 for Nevah Surrender. Many families and children were on hand as well as seasoned runners.  Paul Green has been a member of the club from when it opened and has preached fitness and to never give up.  Paul has noted many times that exercise is what keeps him going.
Our overall female winner was 16 year old Collette Peligrin of Weston and her time was 21:52. The overall men's winner was our own junior rower, 17 year old Max Malec of Easton and his time was 19:09.  Everyone who finished the race however were winners, with Paul Green greeting everyone as they crossed the finish line.

Thank you to all the volunteers and sponsors that made this race a success!
