Margaret Gordon

Margaret is the Masters Head Coach at the Saugatuck Rowing Club. Margaret joins the club with nearly 5 decades of rowing experience and more than 3 decades as a coach. Margaret is a native of Old Lyme, CT and rowed at Lyme/Old Lyme HS and Blood Street Sculls. She rowed and graduated from Syracuse University. Margaret competed at the first Lightweight Worlds that included Women-Montreal in 1984, silver medal 4 and has continued to compete on and off for nearly 5 decades. She continues as a career rowing coach and program manager for over three decades, coaching sweep and sculling on all levels from novice to elite, juniors to masters, recreational to competitive and everything in between.

Margaret coached at the collegiate level: Syracuse University, the University of Miami, Columbia University, started program and first coach of Haverford College, Middlebury College and Craftsbury’s U23 Fall Semester 2020. As well as at the Scholastic coaching level: The Baldwin School, the Independent Rowing Program, Radnor Girl’s Crew Club and Crew Haven. Also, Club coaching at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center, Florida Rowing Center, Miami Rowing Club, the Miami Beach Rowing Club, Vesper Boat Club, Bachelor’s Barge Club, and Canal Dock Boathouse.
